Thank you for writing your story. I resonate with this a lot. I worked through a Ph.D. program in applied mathematics. I am proud of what I've learned and my skills developed, but I am not sure it was worth the accomplishment or the toll it took on my body and mental health. I am a "recovering academic" too. It was a fight to the very end. I'm not proud of what it took to obtain those 3 letters.
